MANILA, Philippines —  Several roads in Quezon City will be closed to traffic on Dec. 21 for the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) parade, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced yesterday.

In a statement, the MMDA said the MMFF parade would feature floats carrying stars of the eight official movie entries in this year’s festival.

The parade will start at the Mabuhay Rotonda at 4 p.m. and will end at the Quezon Memorial Circle.

The MMDA said motorists traveling from España Boulevard should turn right to Blumentritt Road, left to Sto. Tomas street or Matimyas street, right to Nicanor Ramirez, left to Cordillera street, right to E. Rodriguez Sr. Avenue, left to Tomas Morato, then right to Timog Avenue toward East Avenue to destination.

Vehicles from España Boulevard may also turn right to Nicanor Ramirez, straight to Cordillera street, right to E. Rodriguez Sr. Avenue, left to Tomas Morato, right to Timog Avenue toward East Avenue to destination.

Those traveling from Quezon Avenue tunnel ramp should turn right to Biak na Bato, left to Dapitan street, left to Lacson Avenue and right to España Boulevard to point of destination.

Vehicles traveling from Quezon Avenue, meanwhile, may turn right at D. Tuazon Street, then left at Sen. Mariano Cuenco to Piy Margal Street, left at Blumentritt Road, then right at España Boulevard to their destination.

Motorists going to Del Monte and Araneta avenues must take a U-turn at Mabuhay Rotonda, right to Blumentritt Road, right to Piy Margal street, then left to Mayon street to their destination.

MMDA Chairman Romando Artes said traffic personnel of the agency would coordinate with the Quezon City government and barangay officials to manage the flow of traffic during the parade.

The MMFF committee and representatives from the local government have inspected the routes of the parade, Artes said.
