Fire hits Quiapo barangay hall

Marc Jayson Cayabyab - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — A fire razed the command center of a barangay hall in Quiapo, Manila Monday night.

The fire hit the first floor of the barangay hall in Barangay 306, Zone 30, according to a dzMM Teleradyo report.

Four closed-circuit television (CCTV) monitors worth P100,000, as well as various computers, were lost to the fire.

In the radio report, Barangay 306 chairperson Joey Uy Jamisola said a tent would be put up outside the razed barangay hall so that services would not be impeded.

The fire may have been sparked by the round-the-clock operation of the CCTVs, added barangay kagawad Lloyd Fajardo.

Arson probers are still investigating the cause of the fire.
