P5.6 million shabu seized in Bacolod
BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — Shabu with an estimated street value of P5.6 million was seized in separate anti-narcotics operation in this city, which also resulted in the arrest of three drug suspects over the weekend.
Among those seized by agents of the Bacolod City Drug Enforcement Unit were marked money amounting to P3,000 and 675 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P4.59 million, according to Lt. Liberty Indiape, deputy spokesperson for the city police.
Police said the sting, which was conducted on Friday, also resulted in the arrest of Erwin Belonio and Anthony Solon, said to be major drug suppliers in the area.
The following day, authorities foiled an attempt to smuggle P1 million worth of suspected shabu to Iloilo through the BREDCO Port in Bacolod City.
The anti-narcotics operation, led by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, resulted in the arrest of the suspect, identified as Rhemon Dumancas, 36.
Dumancas reportedly yielded 150 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P1.02 million. – Ralph Edwin Villanueva
