Quake jolts Occidental Mindoro
MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.8 earthquake jolted Occidental Mindoro yesterday morning, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology.
Phivolcs said the quake occurred at 9:34 a.m., with the epicenter located 23 kilometers southwest of Mamburao.
The temblor was tectonic in origin and was felt at Intensity 3 in Lubang, Occidental Mindoro and Lipa, Batangas.
Instrumental Intensity 4 was recorded in Mamburao and Sablayan in Occidental Mindoro.
The quake was not expected to generate aftershocks or cause damage to property.
Meanwhile, a magnitude 4.7 quake struck Isabela, with its epicenter located about 39 kilometers north-northeast of Maconacon town.
Phivolcs said the quake occurred at 4:45 a.m. and was felt in some parts of northern Luzon.
