Government workers get free train ride tomorrow

MANILA, Philippines — Government employees may ride trains for free tomorrow as part of the month-long observance of the 122nd anniversary of the Philippine civil service, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) said yesterday.

Those who wish to avail themselves of free rides at the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3), Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) and the Philippine National Railways (PNR) should present identification cards that prove they are employees of a government agency, office or instrumentality.

The free rides will be available at the PNR for the whole day while the MRT-3 and LRT-2 will offer free rides from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
