4 arrested for kidnapping in Iligan
MANILA, Philippines — Four members of a family have been arrested after they allegedly kidnapped the boyfriend of their relative in Iligan City in exchange for P10,000, the Philippine National Police (PNP) reported yesterday.
Jamila, 26; Jamaliah, 22; Jamil, and Gemma, 57, all surnamed Balowa, were apprehended in an entrapment in Barangay Luinab on Thursday, PNP chief Gen. Rofoldo Azurin Jr. said.
He said the mother of the victim sought assistance from the police Anti-Kidnapping Group.
“The immediate response to complaints of this serious nature is guided by our peace and security initiatives,” Azurin said in a statement.
