MANILA, Philippines — Police have discovered what they suspect to be human skeletal remains of the chief executive officer of a pharmaceutical company who went missing in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig last month.

Investigators from the Philippine National Police headquarters at Camp Crame visited the site where the remains were found in Barangay San Juan, Sto. Tomas City in Batangas on Monday.

A police officer, who refused to be named, said probers have yet to determine if the bones were from a person.

“Inaalam pa kung ‘yun ay sa buto ng tao o hayop,” the source said in an interview.

The follow-up investigation stemmed from information that an individual may have been killed in Barangay San Juan on July 19.

The informant told police that he heard on radio that a  pharmaceutical executive in a Toyota Land Cruiser went missing in Taguig.

Police said the last time the CEO was last seen alive was when he picked up P5.7 million in cash and two expensive watches from his personal assistant.

The executive’s vehicle was found burned in San Luis, Pampanga.

The Anti-Kidnapping Group is the police unit leading the probe on the missing CEO.
