Retired cop shot dead in Batangas
BATANGAS, Philippines — A 65-year-old retired policeman was shot dead by motorcycle-riding assailants in Tanauan, Batangas on Sunday afternoon.
Valeriano Parra, former member of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, was sitting in the balcony of his house in Barangay Banjo when he was killed at around 5:45 p.m., according to Col. Glicerio Cansilao, Batangas police chief.
Parra was declared dead on arrival at the Daniel Mercado Medical Center due to multiple gunshot wounds in the body.
The assailants fled after the incident.
Police have yet to determine the motive for the killing.
