Suspect in Italian priest’s slay held

KIDAPAWAN CITY, Philippines — A suspect in the murder of Italian priest Fausto Tentorio in 2011 was arrested at his hideout in Arakan on Tuesday.

Brig. Gen. Alexander Tagum, Soccksargen police director, said Ricardo Dorado, 65, is now detained and awaiting prosecution.

Tentorio was about to enter his car parked in the compound of the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish when he was shot in the head.

Dorado did not resist arrest when served a warrant issued by a court in North Cotabato.

Five suspects were tagged in the killing of Tentorio. The alleged gunman, Jimmy Ato, was arrested two months after the incident.
