415 Bilibid inmates register for 2022 polls

MANILA, Philippines — At least 415 inmates at the New Bilibid Prison’s maximum security compound were able to register to vote in next year’s elections, the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) said yesterday.

In a statement posted on its Facebook account, BuCor said the inmates were able to register last month. Aside from the inmates, 61 BuCor personnel also signed up to vote.

BuCor chief Gerald Bantag thanked the Commission on Elections for giving maximum security compound inmates the opportunity to “exercise their right of suffrage.”
