7 hospitalized after eating tilapia

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, Philippines — A family of seven fell ill in Isabela after eating tilapia for dinner on Thursday.

Johnny Salgado, 47; his wife Elizabeth, 41; their children Daisy, 18; Christopher, 16; Jaypee, 13, and twins Angelo and Angela, 5, were taken to a hospital for treatment.

The victims suffered vomiting, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea after eating the fish believed to be stale.

Health authorities took food samples of the fish for examination.
