2 cops probed for gambling, drinking

TUGUEGARAO, Philippines — Two police officers are facing charges after they were reportedly caught gambling and drinking in Sta. Ana, Cagayan on Saturday.

S/Sgt. Fidel Aquio Jr., 44, of the regional police logistics and research development division, was reportedly caught in a cockfighting arena in Barangay Pengue-Ruyu, according to Col. Ignacio Cumigad, Cagayan police director.

Meanwhile, Cpl. Melvic Cris de Castro, 32, of Sta. Ana police, reportedly abandoned his post to join a drinking spree at home.

Cumigad said De Castro was also facing charges for beating up a woman during a quarrel.
