Clan war behind ambush of Lanao del Norte mayor

TUBOD, Lanao del Norte, Philippines — A task force investigating the ambush of Mayor Lacson Lantud of Pantao Ragat town in this province said clan war was the motive for the attack.

Lantud was on his way to inspect a water project in Barangay Cabasagan when unidentified men strafed his vehicle.

He survived the attack that killed his four bodyguards.

Lantud and a wounded bodyguard were taken to a hospital for treatment.
