Family of 5 killed in Cavite fire

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — A couple and their three children died in a fire in Bacoor, Cavite at dawn yesterday.

The charred remains of Christopher Moyamo, 37; his partner Sherlyn Abalos, 27; Chris Nathan, 3; four-month-old Samuel Dane and Christine Julia, 15, were recovered in the toilet of their rented apartment at Fe de Castro subdivision in Barangay Aniban 4.

Superintendent Nahum Terroza, Bureau of Fire and Protection-Calabarzon deputy director, said, which started at around 2:10 a.m, was declared out after almost two hours.

Terroza said only the house of the victims was destroyed as firefighters managed to get the flames under control.

 Probers have yet to determine what caused the fire. They are also checking reports that prior to the incident, the couple had a heated argument.
