MALOLOS, Philippines – Movie actor Phillip Salvador will be the the running mate of former governor Josefina dela Cruz in the provincial race in Bulacan next year.

Dela Cruz and Salvador, who are running under the the Nationalist People’s Coalition Party, filed their certificates of candidacy (COC) yesterday for governor and vice governor, respectively, after Pedro Mendoza and Eduardo Gregorio withdrew theirs for the two top posts in the province.

Dela Cruz, who resigned as chief of the Philippine Postal Corp., said the filing of their COCs was delayed due to a disqualification case filed against Salvador.

She said the petition was dismissed by the election registration board of Marilao, paving the way for Salvador to seek an elective post.
