NGCP: Mindanao power supply stable

John Unson - The Philippine Star

COTABATO CITY, Philippines - – The National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) yesterday assured consumers in Mindanao of stable power supply during Christmas and New Year’s Day.

Milfrance Capulong, NGCP corporate communications head, told reporters they would do their best to provide the public with adequate power supply on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1, 2014.

The NGCP supplies the Mindanao grid with power produced by state-owned hydro-electric plants in Lanao del Sur and Bukidnon.

Capulong said the National Power Corp. has not yet issued any load curtailment advisory for next week. He appealed to the public to help the police and the military monitor the surroundings of power relay pylons to foil any attempts by lawless groups to disrupt power supply.
