Man killed as he jumps off jeepney

MANILA, Philippines - A call center employee was killed when he jumped off a running passenger jeepney that lost its brakes and propeller in Antipolo City on Monday.

Manuel Cruz Jr., 28, who worked for Ibex Global, sustained fatal head and body injures when he landed on a downward portion of the Marcos Highway.

Police arrested the jeepney driver, Pascual Lugo, 42, and would charge him with reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.

Cruz had come from Cogeo, Antipolo City and was on his way to Cubao to report for work.
