Grade 5 pupil raped, killed in South Cotabato

KORONADAL CITY, Philippines – A grade five pupil was reportedly raped and killed by a friend of his father in Norala town the other day.

The body of Vanessa Pagalingan, 12, was found by a group of farmers at past 8 a.m. in a ricefield in Barangay Poblacion.

Six hours after Pagalingan was found, police arrested Jory Tupaz, a neighbor of the victim.

Chief Inspector Jorge Parcon, chief of the Norala police station, said Tupaz owned up to the crime.
