Military ordered by SC to produce missing activist Burgos

The Supreme Court on Tuesday has issued a writ of habeas corpus to the Armed Forces of the Philippines to produce missing activist Jonas Burgos, accoding to media reports.

The high tribunal specifically told President Gloria Arroyo to order the military to present Burgos before the Court of Appeals and release him.

The SC also included AFP Forces chief Gen. Hermogenes Esperon Jr. and Army commanding general Lt. Gen. Romeo Tolentino in their writ.

The respondents were ordered to present Burgos before the CA by Friday morning.
