Laguna police chief shot dead outside home

MANILA (AFP) - Unidentified gunmen shot dead a municipal police chief in front of his home near the Philippine capital on Tuesday, investigators said.

Superintendent Bernie Banalo, police chief of Cabuyao town, was gunned down in Santa Rosa, south of Manila, police investigators said. The motive for the attack is unknown.

Cabuyao is a commercial and light-industrial district in the southern part of Manila.
