Cebu 5th district officials endorse Durano’s brother

- Jose P. Sollano -
CEBU — Officials of Cebu’s fifth congressional district have endorsed Ramon "Red" Durano VI, son of Danao City Mayor Ramon "Nito" Durano III, as their official candidate for congressman in the district’s special election on May 30.

The endorsement was contained in a manifesto signed by provincial board members Agnes Magpale and Judy Durano, Mayor Durano and his brother, Vice Mayor Ramon "Boy" Durano Jr., 10 Danao City councilors, eight town mayors and 103 barangay captains and councilmen.

In the manifesto, the fifth district officials said they support the clamor of their constituents endorsing Red as the successor of his brother, Joseph "Ace" Durano, who is now the tourism secretary.

They said Red is highly qualified to serve as congressman since, aside from having excelled academically, he had held managerial positions in various corporations.

"Red shares the vision of his brother, Ace Durano, to build a strong and dynamic district. For this reason, we are assured that there is continuity (in) the projects that are now being implemented and will be implemented in our district," they said in the manifesto. — Freeman News Service
