Dionela pledges concert proceeds to Typhoon Uwan victims
MANILA, Philippines — Filipino R&B singer-songwriter Dionela will donate the proceeds of his upcoming concerts to the victims of Typhoon Uwan which recently ravaged the Philippines.
The artist posted a photo on his Facebook account and Instagram a story a photo of himself holding a placard informing followers of his upcoming first major concert later this month.
"I'm beyond grateful that tickets are almost sold out, with just a few seats," he wrote in the placard.
The shows on November 21 and 22 at Quezon City's New Frontier Theater are part of Dionela's ongoing "Grace" world tour which began last June.
"Today I made a decision that God impressed upon my heart," Dionela's placard continued. "I'll be donating everything I earn from the concert to help the victims of the recent typhoon."
"The concert is called 'The Grace Tour' and I guess this is what grace is all about," the singer ended.
Dionela is best known for his hit songs "Sining" and "Marilag," the former with fellow R&B artist Jay R.
Uwan battered the Philippines over the weekend forcing millions of people to evacuate as it submerged villages with flood waters.
Uwan came just days after Typhoon Tino ravaged the Visayas region killing at least 224 people.
