Vatican concert with Pharrell, Andrea Bocelli, John Legend to stream online
PENTICTON, Canada — Award-winning singers Pharrell Williams and Andrea Bocelli will perform in and co-direct a special concert taking place in Vatican City's St. Peter’s Square.
The concert, supported by the Vatican, will mark the closing of the third World Meeting on Human Fraternity and another form of celebration for the 2025 Jubilee Year.
It will take place on September 13, streaming live in the Philippines via Disney+ (September 14 at 3 a.m.) and the rest of the world.
Pharrell and Andrea are also executive producers alongside Nova Sky Stories, Something in the Water, Solina Chau, Mark and Roma Burnett, and Kimbal Musk, with musical direction by Adam Blackstone
Sam Wrench will direct the concert open to the public in Rome, with broadcast production by Jesse Collins Entertainment.
"Fraternity will take center stage, expressed through the universal language of music and the stories of those who have made it a life's choice,” said Cardinal Mauro Gambetti, O.F.M. in a statement.

"Concrete words and actions shall be proposed to be brought into our communities, so that fraternity does not remain a mere idea, but becomes a choice that transforms reality."
Pharrell described the concert as "a rare cultural moment where the world stops and collectively tunes in. It is a message of unity and grace for all of humanity."
"Let us shine a spotlight on humanity with music from the very heart of Christianity and the most important spiritual square, reaching the entire world with a single message of brotherhood and peace," added Andrea.
John Legend, Karol G, Teddy Swims, Jelly Roll, Clipse, Angelique Kidjo, and the Voices of Fire Gospel Choir are also expected to perform.
Nova Sky Stories will stage an aerial drone and light show featuring imagery inspired by the Sistine Chapel, and there will also be reflections from world leaders in culture, diplomacy, and sport.
