Lim wants high schools to study Muslim culture

MANILA, Philippines - Mayor Alfredo Lim yesterday called for public high schools in Manila to include a subject on Muslim culture in their curriculum.

“For national unity, for lasting peace, there is a great need for Filipinos to study and analyze Muslim Filipino history since this has not been effectively achieved,” Lim said in a statement, reiterating a call he made during the celebration of Eid’l Fitr in Manila last week.

He also hoped that the peace process in Mindanao would continue so Christians and Muslims could live together peacefully.
