CEBU, Philippines - The Lapu-Lapu City government has assured that they will play as bridge between the employers and employees in order to maintain good working conditions in the city.

City Mayor Paz Radaza in her Labor Day message said that with open communication of both parties, she believes they will understand each other.

"We in government must provide the communication line and ensure that is open 24/7 so that employers and employees will be able to continue to talk," Mayor Radaza said.

Radaza said Lapu-Lapu City is growing very fast.

The entry of several multi-billion peso developments is expected to spur economic growth and generate more jobs in the city, she added.

"With the hyperactive growth our city is experiencing, we must work hard to create a very friendly environment for business," she further said.

The city mayor said that they are now in the process of branding the city to invite more tourists and investors to Lapu-Lapu.

As investments pour in, Mayor Radaza said more businesses open, as more jobs are created, we have to see to it that we maintain industrial peace.

"I strongly believe that if we want to preserve industrial peace in the city we must create an open communication line at all times," she stressed.

The Lapu-Lapu City mayor said that it is just right and proper that they provide a harmonious working environment.

Celebrating Labor Day, she reminds workers of their commitment to the labor sector.

She further said that they must ensure that every working Filipino is protected and that industrial peace is maintained.

"It is appropriate that they dedicate Labor Day to honor our laborers, be it here in the country or those working abroad," the city mayor said, adding they are the generator of our economic growth.
