Neighbor stabs carpenter

CEBU, Philippines - A 31-year-old carpenter was stabbed and wounded when he intervened in an altercation between his girlfriend and a neighbor during a drinking session in barangay Maribago, Lapu-Lapu City Sunday night.

Rodrigo Martinez, a resident of sitio Cambiohan in Maribago, was taken to the Lapu-Lapu City Hospital for a stab wound in the back.

He identified his attacker as Marcial Andales, 39, single,.

Police Martinez and his relatives were having a drink in sitio Ilaya in Maribago when Andales came and quarreled with Martinez’s girlfriend.

Martinez tried to pacify Andales and the woman and got stabbed instead. Andales fled immediately.
