Tokyo, Nagoya next stops for VP

MANILA, Philippines — As she continues to drum up support from overseas Filipinos for her campaign to have her father released from detention in The Hague, Vice President Sara Duterte said yesterday she is eyeing Tokyo and Nagoya as her next destinations.
“Yes. We already confirmed (our presence) to the organizers in Japan…Sept. 20, Tokyo and then Sept. 21, in Nagoya, so that’s for the entire weekend, Saturday, Sunday. We have a Filipino community gathering in Japan,” Duterte said.
At the same time, Duterte said rallies would also be held in The Hague, Netherlands as part of the “Bring Duterte Home” campaign.
Her father, former president Rodrigo Duterte has been detained in The Hague since March awaiting trial for crimes against humanity.
“I understand there will be here in The Hague and likely, there will be many (mobilizations) inside the Philippines,” Duterte added. Her Japan trip will be her 13th foreign travel this year.
Her latest visit to her father in The Hague, Netherlands was her fourth.
In August, she visited Kuwait and France. Last July, the Vice President was in the Netherlands and South Korea, in Malaysia and Australia in June, Qatar and the Netherlands in May, Hong Kong and the Netherlands in March, and Japan in January.
