Marcos Jr., Liza’s secret to wedded bliss: Sense of humor
MANILA, Philippines — President Marcos and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos marked their 31st wedding anniversary on Wednesday.
The First Lady posted on Facebook a photo collage with her husband taken in April 1993, April 2018 and April 2024, with her greeting, “Happy 31st Anniversary!”
In the President’s “Valentine’s Day” vlog, the First Couple shared their secrets to a healthy relationship. The 66-year-old President said keeping their sense of humor and seeing the lighter side of things are what make their relationship healthy.
The First Lady said they do not allow stress to consume them.?Liza, 64, said the President cooks for them at home and, if time permits, they have a “date night” every Wednesday where they dine in a restaurant of their choice and “talk about funny things to lessen the stress.”
Marcos and Liza tied the knot on April 17, 1993 at the San Francesco Convent in Fiesole, Italy, according to the President’s website.Marcos and Liza met in New York in 1986 when the First Lady was working as a lawyer.
The First Couple renewed their wedding vows in Florence, Italy in April 2018.?On their 30th wedding anniversary last year, Marcos asked Liza to marry him again.They have three sons: Ilocos Norte Rep. Ferdinand Alexander, Joseph Simon and William Vincent.
