MANILA, Philippines — As the coronavirus disease is expected to further transform the world and the Philippine economy in 2021, BusinessWorld – the country’s leading business newspaper – will gather in a groundbreaking virtual setup over 40 local and international speakers at its annual flagship and award-winning event, the BusinessWorld Economic Forum, to discuss the great economic reset as well as the future in a post-COVID era.

BusinessWorld Virtual Economic Forum is scheduled on Nov. 25 to 26, 2020 and banners the theme “Forecast 2021: ReBoot. ReThink. ReShape.”

It is an insightful and engaging two-day online forum with keynote speeches, conversation panels, fireside chats, breakout sessions, “ask the expert” talks, virtual exhibits, and business networking opportunities.

Invited keynote speakers are Borge Brende, president of the World Economic Forum, who will talk about the “Great Reset;” Dr. Bernardo Mariano Jr., chief information officer of the World Health Organization, who will tackle “Accelerating Healthcare Reforms and Innovations;” Ndiame Diop, country director for Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia, the Philippines and Thailand of the World Bank, who will discuss “What Lies Ahead: Economic Growth Prospects;” and Kelly Bird, country director of the Asian Development Bank, who will share his insights on “Innovation in the Time of COVID.”

Participants will learn how top global leaders and local company executives are effectively responding to the COVID-19 crisis and how they plan to lead their countries and companies in bouncing back and moving forward from the pandemic through The Conversation Panel, with the topic “Responding to the Pandemic,” and The CEO Panel, with the topic “Valuable Leadership and the Country’s Road to Recovery.”

Interesting and enlightening insights will be shared during the Fireside Chats, a 20-minute discussion with various experts and leaders from various sectors including Jean-Antoine Zinsou, country manager of Sanofi Pasteur Philippines, who will talk about “Awaiting a Vaccine;” Cezar Consing, president and CEO of BPI, who will tackle “Banking in the New Normal;” Felino Palafox Jr., principal architect-urban planner of Palafox Associates, who will delve on “How Our Cities Will Be Reshaped by the Crisis;” Francisco Dakila Jr., deputy governor, Monetary and Economics Sector of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, who will present about “Shaping Monetary Policies;” James Matti, head of Willis Towers Watson Philippines, who will give tips on “Managing the Workforce of the Future;” and Satish Shankar, regional managing partner of Bain & Company Asia Pacific, who will share data about the “The Next Consumers: The Future of Consumption.”

Take a glimpse of the future of some of the most important business sectors as forecast by top industry leaders during the Breakout Sessions.

Participants can choose to attend any of the following topic sessions: “Bright Spots: The Future of Travel and Tourism,” “On the Rise: E-Commerce and Logistics,” “The Young Market: Marketing to Gen Z and Millennials Post-COVID,” “High-Tech and Secured: IT and Cybersecurity in the Post-COVID Era,” “Reimagining Mobility: How COVID-19 will Change Transportation and Connectivity,” “What We Need: Ensuring Food Security and Boosting the Agriculture Sector,” “Accelerating Digital Transformation” and “Towards a Cashless & Contactless Digital Payment Ecosystem.”

Attendees can also raise valuable questions during the Ask the Expert sessions featuring Kristine Romano, managing partner of McKinsey & Company, Philippines; and Anthony Oundjian, managing director and senior partner of Boston Consulting Group.
