Duterte in Manila for Holy Week

MANILA, Philippines — President Duterte is staying in Manila for Holy Week to keep updated on government efforts to address the coronavirus disease 2019 crisis, presidential spokesman Salvador Panelo said yesterday.

In a virtual press briefing, Panelo said Duterte on Tuesday cancelled his trip to Davao City.

The President has been advised by his doctors and the Presidential Security Group to refrain from going out of his residence since the implementation of enhanced community quarantine. 

“He will continue to function and perform his duties as President. He will continue to monitor and give directives, directions to all agencies in government for whatever incident needs his response,” Panelo said.
