Passengers stranded due to ‘Urduja’ down to 2,900

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Coast Guard on Monday said the number of passenger stranded in seaports due to Tropical Depression “Urduja” has declined as vessels have been allowed to sail.
As of 8 a.m., PCG said there are only 2,900 passengers left stranded in seaports affected by the weather depression.
The number has decreased from 16,996 on Sunday and 9,775 at Monday dawn.

The Coast Guard also said the number of stranded vehicles has been reduced. There are only 195 stranded vessels, 12 rolling cargoes, and 8 motor bancas.
In its 11:30 a.m. advisory, PAGASA said Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 1 is only raised over Palawan. Sea travel over its seaboard is not advised.
Urduja was last located at 90 km North Northwest of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan as of 10 a.m.
It is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Tuesday morning or afternoon.
