92 dead in phase 2 of drug war

MANILA, Philippines - At least 92 drug personalities were killed in the Philippine National Police’s intensified campaign against illegal drugs.

In its report, the PNP said the 92 fatalities were recorded in 38 days or an average of 2.4 individuals killed every day since the PNP launched the Double Barrel Reloaded last March 1.

Of the 92, the PNP said 36 deaths were recorded in Central Luzon (Region 3), followed by the National Capital Regional Police Office (NCRPO) with 14.

Southern Tagalog (Region 4-A) has 11 people killed, six in Central Visayas (Region 7), five in Eastern Visayas (Region 8), four in Central Mindanao (Region 12), three in Western Mindanao (Region 9), two each in Bicol (Region 5), Northern Mindanao (Region 10), Southern Mindanao (Region 11), Caraga (Region 13) and Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

One person each was killed in Ilocos (Region 1), Cagayan Valley (Region 2) and Western Visayas (Region 6).

The PNP has arrested a total of 7,281 drug pushers and users nationwide after 4,542 operations, the report said.
