My wife dumped me – Rody

Giovanni Nilles - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - This ladies’ man was dumped by his wife. So he took her nurse as his partner.

President Duterte, who has made no secret of his romantic affairs, disclosed details of his failed marriage before a religious congregation last Wednesday.

Speaking before members of the Jesus Anointed One church in Davao City, Duterte bared that it was not he who broke up with his former wife Elizabeth Zimmerman.

“The mother of Inday, she was the one who parted ways with me. She filed the annulment. I did not break up with my wife. She no longer liked me. We could not do anything. That’s when I decided to go with her nurse Honeylet,” the President said in Filipino.

Inday is  Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio.

Honeylet Avanceña is Duterte’s current partner with whom he has a daughter named Veronica.

Both Zimmerman and Avanceña attended Duterte’s inauguration at Malacañang on June 30.

The President has three children with Elizabeth: Sara, Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo and surfer Sebastian, who has become a social media sensation.

When the President appeared before the religious gathering, he first discussed the policies of his government, including his relentless drug war and the Abu Sayyaf.

Then he began talking about his love life.

He said he and Honeylet once visited a large church at Mission Hills in Los Angeles, California.

“We went to hear mass. It was a big church, but the churchgoers were only three Mexicans and two Filipinos. Not so many came because of the many scandals in the Vatican,” he said in Filipino.

During the campaign, Duterte openly talked about Elizabeth and Honeylet as well as two current girlfriends whom he has not named.

He said the younger of the two works in the cosmetics department of a shopping mall in Davao City, where he was mayor for more than 20 years, while the other is a cashier.

Duterte shrugged off criticisms of his affairs, saying if people did not want him to become president because he has four women, then they should vote for one of the other presidential candidates.

He explained that he just wanted the people to know who he really is and the kind of man that they might vote into office.
