Philippine Embassy advises Filipinos to ‘stay indoor’ after Munich attack

MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Embassy in Berlin, Germany issued an advisory asking the public to stay indoors after the Munich shooting attack.

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said the Philippine Embassy also asked the public to “heed the advise of the police to stay indoors, remain calm, and be vigilant.”

“The Philippine Government, through the Philippines in Berlin, is coordinating with German authorities and monitoring the situation closely,” the DFA added.

The Philippines also extended condolences to the loved ones of the victims of the attack

“The Philippines offers its sincerest condolences and prayers to a grieving nation and to the family and friends of the victims of the shooting in Munich,” DFA said.

On Saturday dawn (Philippine time), an 18-year-old German-Iranian killed nine people in a shooting rampage inside a crowded shopping mall and a McDonald's in Munich before he killed himself.
