German fiancé won't stop seeking justice for 'Jennifer'

Dennis Carcamo - The Philippine Star
MANILA, Philippines - The deportation of the fiancé of the slain transgender Jennifer Laude does not end his fight for justice, lawyers of the victim's family said on Thursday.

In a statement, Laude's legal counsel Harry Roque said that voluntary deportation of Marc Sueselbeck will not end his search for justice.

"Our client wants to spend some of the last few hours he is allowed to spend in the Philippines to visit Jennifer’s grave, to say goodbye to her; but for Marc, his return to Germany doe not mean it is the end of his fight for justice for Jennifer," the lawyers said.

They added that Sueselbeck has to return to German to take care of his "source of livelihood there."

The lawyers also said that charges against Sueselbeck are meant to silence him and the members of the Laude family.

Sueselbeck has been declared as an undesirable alien after he climbed the fence surrounding the facility inside the Armed Forces of the Philippines in Camp Aguinaldo, where US Marine Pfc. Joseph Scott Pemberton is detained.

Pemberton is the principal suspect in the killing of Laude inside a motel in Subic, Zambales.

The case is now being heard at the Olongapo City Prosecutors' Office.
