RP environmentalists oppose Conservation Award for GMA

MALOLOS City, Philippines - Domestic environmental advocacy groups are opposing the Conservation Award to be conferred on President Arroyo by US-based conservation organizations.

“We would like to express our absolute opposition to the choice of the president of our country, President Arroyo, as the recipient of the Conservation Award,” the Green Convergence for Safe Food, Healthy Environment & Sustainable Economy (Green Convergence) said, adding that her whole program of governance has not manifested concern to safeguard the precious natural resources of the Philippines.
