Ashley Nicole Singh is Mutya Best in Philippine Terno

MANILA, Philippines - Ashley Nicole Singh (Mutya ng Central Luzon), wearing a creation by Pampanga-based fashion designer Rex Nicdao, was named Best in Philippine Terno during the Designers’ Competition of 2016 Mutya ng Pilipinas held at the Atrium of Robinsons Place in Las Piñas City last July 26.  

The Top 5 finalists for the Best Designer Award were also announced that night, namely Nicdao (worn by Singh), Arnu Camay (worn by Ganiel Akrisha Krishnan, Manila), Jontie Martinez (worn by Jannie Loudette Alipo-on, Navotas City), John Cliff Dima-ala (worn by Michelle Thorlund, California) and Adam Balasa (worn by Meryhneilla Umayam, United Kingdom).  

Fashion designer and beauty queen maker Renee Salud (in photo with Singh) chaired the panel of judges with beauty expert James Cooper and fashion designer Tonichi Nocom, among the members. 

Corporate awards were also handed out that night: Krishnan (Mutya ng Hotel 101, Mutya ng Camera Club of the Philippines and Mutya ng Ingot) and Alipo-on (Mutya ng Cynos).

The Best Designer winner will be awarded in tonight’s grand coronation event at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Resorts World Manila, hosted by Richard Gutierrez, Bela Padilla and Arci Muñoz.
