Vic on AlDub in MMFF entry: It’s still under negotiation

Joyce Jimenez - Philstar.com

MANILA, Philippines – Vic Sotto clarified on Wednesday that Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza’s participation in his Metro Manila Film Festival entry “Rom-comin Mo Ako” is still not finalized.

“‘Yong AlDub hindi ko pa masasabi ngayon dahil under negotiations pa,” he said in an interview after the Citi Global event.

The schedule of Alden and Maine, who make up the popuar love team AlDub, are still being reviewed, but Vic hopes that they’ll be able to join the movie’s cast.

“I’m sure that’ll be more fun and talagang kilig pa more,” he said.

Even his leading lady in the film, Ai Ai delas Alas, has changed her statement about AlDub’s participation in the film.

In a separate interview, the comedienne replied “confirmed na confirmed” when asked if the “Kalyeserye” love team will be part of their film.

Yet in her interview with Ricky Lo she was quoted as saying, “Ayoko magsalita baka pagalitan na naman ako. Ayaw nila ipasabi.”

Aside from the participation of AlDub, Vic also noted that this is the first time he's doing a romantic-comedy themed film, which is something new to his audience.

“It’s my first time to do a rom-com movie. Talagang serious na rom-com, first time ko ‘to,” he said. “So I’m really excited na simulant ang pelikulang ‘to and hopefully maayos lahat ng casting.”

If everything will be finalized soon, they’ll start rolling on September 18.
