Xian Lim dreams of getting a title role

MANILA, Philippines – After several TV and movie projects with Kim Chiu, Xian Lim will get a new onscreen partner.
 
In a press conference for his second album “XL2” on Thursday, May 22, the Kapamilya actor said he will work with Jessy Mendiola in an upcoming soap opera.
 
Presently, Kim, Xian's perennial onscreen partner, is paired up with Coco Martin in the ongoing primetime drama “Ikaw Lamang.” This surprised many fans as the move was preceded by “Bride for Rent,” the hit Star Cinema movie that starred Kim and Xian.
 
“Watching her (Kim) work, watching her be successful in a teleserye, okay lang po yun,” Xian said of the Kim-Coco pair up. 
 
But even if the two are not working together for now, Xian is confident their fans will remain supportive of their individual projects and careers.
 
“Sila naman po kasi, they always assure us that they will always be there to support kahit na magkahiwalay po yung projects namin,” the 24-year-old actor said. “Sinabi naman po nila na andito sila all through out.”
 
Xian is aware his name, for the moment, is often associated with Kim as it was their first TV team-up, the 2011 soap opera “My Binondo Girl,” that served as his breakthrough role in showbiz. But he does not let this bother him.
 
“I'm thankful na marami kaming napapasaya na tao,” he said. “All we're saying is, andito lang kami to spread joy, to spread happiness.”
 
He added, “For now, syempre natutuwa ako to be associated with Kim so I don't mind.”
 
He also admits wanting to have a title role in the future. “Minsan nakakabasa rin ako ng mga script, yung mga binibigay sa amin pag workshops... nakakatuwa isipin na magkaroon ka ng isang sarili mo talaga, na ikaw yung title role sa teleserye,” Xian said.
