Largo rules Cebu Vertical Climb

CEBU, Philippines — Veteran triathlete Michael Largo conquered a different kind of challenge as he dominated the Horizons 101 Cebu Vertical Climb 2020 the other day at the Horizons 101.

Largo finished the long-busting race in 20 minutes and 22 seconds. He was way ahead of Kenyan Joseph Mururi, who ended with 21:31 as Ejay Glmadona came out third in 22:09.

Completing the top 10 in the men’s elite were Ian Refuela(22:33), Jerome Casinillo(25:14), Rinmarch Gonzaga (25:23), Jezreil Baguio(25:44), Roldan Calda (27:12) and Leonard Kemboi with 27:38 clocking.

SEA Games medallists including the likes of Nikko Huelgas,Mervin Guarte and Sherwin Managil also joined the event, but only as guests participants while Elias Tabac of Davao City was unlucky as he failed to defend his crown after getting confused with the directional sign and got lost.

In the distaff side, Ruffa Sorongon was denied of a grandslam by Kenyan Consolata Cherotich, who finished first in 23:35, while Sorongon trailed with 24:49, clocking.

Completing the top 10 women’s finishers were Cherry Andrin(27:45), Mary Joy Castor(28:15), Geneda Argueno(29:19), Engiel Estellore(31:23), Jessamin Hortelano(31:36), April Jan Uberas(31:55) and Patricia Castillo (32:42).
