All set for COLOR Manila Nite Run

John Vincent N. Garcia, CNU MassComm Intern - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines -  Seeing their running event as a great way to entice non-runners to start an active and healthy lifestyle, the Color Manila will stage their first ever Nite Run this Saturday night at the South Road Properties grounds.

The race, which features the 3K, 5K and 10K, is non-competitive run but all the finishers will receive a specially designed finisher’s medal.

“We want to encourage non-runners to start running and be active. This (running event) is for fun wherein you don’t need to worry about your time and what is at stake after the race. We just want them (the participants) to have fun,” said Justine Kayne Cordero of Color Manila in a press conference yesterday at the Quest Hotel.

The Manila edition of the race gathered more than 5,000 runners and the organizers are expecting Cebuano runners to also show up and be part of this one of a kind event. An after party followed by a fireworks display will treat the runners after the race.

Aside from Manila and Cebu, Color Manila will also organize the same race in Ilo-Ilo, Cagayan De Oro, Bacolod, Baguio and Davao.

Transportation will also be provided courtesy of Cebu City government for the participants going to SRP. The buses will be stationed at SRP entrance in Barangay Mambaling and Cebu City Hall.

Since it will be a night race, the organizers also assure the runners for their security as policemen and marshals will be deployed during the event.

Registration fee is pegged at P700 for all categories inclusive of singlet, glow sticks and glow glasses. Online registration is ongoing at www.colormanilanite.com. For further inquiries one may contact Jay Em at 09178359211. (FREEMAN)
