RCAF, Ver-Son share lead in Abella caging

CEBU, Philippines - RCAF of team owner Romy Faunillan stunned J&D, 74-70, even as the Ver-Son Maroons defeated Gleam Signs, 71-56, in Norvic Abella Cup 2010 summer basketball tournament at the Labangon hardcourt.

RCAF led by 11 points at halftime, 38-27, and managed to maintain it despite an erratic fourth-quarter showing.

Danrey Baclay pumped in 19 of his topscoring 29 points in the first half, while Alwen Tabasa and Edgar Tapere chipped in 24 markers combined for RCAF.

Jeff Dacuyan, on the other hand, cashed in 18 points, while Oliver Sabanal and Dicksim Kintanar tossed in 15 and 11 points, respectively, for Ver-Son, which now shares the overall lead with RCAF with identical 5-1 win-loss records.
