2 drug suspects yield P3.5 million shabu
Largo was caught with 33 packs of shabu weighing more or less 500 grams with an estimated Dangerous Drug Board (DDB) value of P3,448,840, while Ablaña was caught with 47 packs weighing 13 grams worth P88,400.

CEBU, Philippines —  The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-7 seized over P3.5 million worth of shabu and arrested two drug personalities in a separate enforcement of search warrant in Barangay Basak Pardo, Cebu City yesterday afternoon.

The suspects were identified as Edward Largo, 40, and Junjie Ablaña.

Largo was caught with 33 packs of shabu weighing more or less 500 grams with an estimated Dangerous Drug Board (DDB) value of P3,448,840, while Ablaña was caught with 47 packs weighing 13 grams worth P88,400.

Both Largo and Ablaña were considered as target-listed drug personalities.

PDEA-7 led by IA 1 Jonar Cuayzon initially enforced a search warrant at the residence of Godofredo Largo Jr., 45, the older brother of Edward, at Villa San Pedro 1, Cuaco Compound.

Godofredo was not at home during the enforcement of search warrant while Edward was sleeping inside.

Edward said he had nothing to do with the illegal drugs that were seized inside the house, stressing all of which are owned by Godofredo. However, he admitted that he is a drug user.

Edward had previous records related to drugs and was acquitted in 2018.

He further said that they do not get along with each other since last year due to family issues.

Edward urged his brother to surrender himself before the authorities before it is too late.

“Mas maayo gyud nga magpakita naka para aron mahuman ta kay lisod man kaayo ako may naduot na ani nuon imoha maning koan, maayo anang magpakita ka... og nakadungog ka ba paminaw ba. Paminaw... mas maayo magpakita ka kontra magtago ka,” he said.

Edward allegedly can dispose of 500 grams of shabu per week, while Ablaña, who resides in Sitio Cogon, can distribute 200 grams per week.

Both arrested suspects will be facing charges for violation of Section 11 of Article II of RA 9165 (The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act).

Edward left a message to his live-in-partner who is currently working in IloIlo City, saying he will face the consequence of his actions.

“Manghianot lang ko ba nga dili siya ma problema ngadto ba kay gi-quarantine raba sila ngadto. Naa naman gyud ni, naa naman gyud ko diri ako nalang gyud ning atubangon kay lisod man kaayo nga mokoan ko basta pag amping lang diha pinangga tika,” he said. — KQD (FREEMAN)
