More Talisay City candidates file COCs

CEBU, Philippines – More candidates from Talisay City yesterday filed their certificates of candidacy (COC) for the coming barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections.

Luciano Cabingatan Jr., who is running for barangay chief of Barangay Camp 4, and his slate   formally submitted their COCs at 10:04 a.m.

Cabingatan is the first candidate to file his COC for barangay captain.

He is joined by his councilmen, former Barangay Camp 4 chairman

Marcial Brigondo, Leonardo Remegio, Wincy Kyamco, Jaime Gomez, Narciso

Labitad, Rowena Briones and Evangeline Tabay.

Cabingatan's group is the first whole slate to file their COCs before the Comelec-Talisay.

City Election Officer Corazon Moran however said that most of the candidates would lodge their COCs on the last day of the filing, which is on October13. She added this is why the Comelec has extended the office hours on this day up to 12 midnight to accommodate everyone.

On Friday, 69-year-old Ernesto Reyes became the first individual candidate to submit his COC for the post of barangay councilman of San Roque, Talisay City. (FREEMAN)
