Climate change

- Donavil O. Guadalquiver Grade VI-A, Mohon Elem. School - Talisay -

CEBU, Philippines - Every year, there is a climate change — sometimes sunny, at other times rainy.

The climate change is caused by two types of monsoon. The southwest monsoon or “habagat” and the northeast monsoon or “amihan.”

The southwest monsoon blows from the left side of the Philippines and the northeast monsoon blows from the right side of the Philippines. Northeast monsoon is a wind from November to February. These months are sunny months. These are the months that El Niño will happen that will send the soil cracking.

Southwest monsoon is a wind from May to October. These months are rainy. That is why these months are stormy and there is a phenomenon called La Niña.

Some of the places here in the Philippines are affected by the climate change like the rich fields in Luzon. When there is a storm, it will be damaged and if it is sunny season, the soil will dry up and the plants will die.

How big is the effect of climate change!
