Watsons: Hub for wellness and well-being

-

MANILA, Philippines - Asia’s top pharmacy brand, Watsons, recently launched Buy Generics and Save program as part of its massive health campaign.

At a media event held at the Stock Market in BGC’s High Street, Watsons also unveiled an extensive range of health supplements from NOW Foods, the leading health supplements brand in the US.

Watsons, being Asia’s No. 1 pharmacy brand, also carries generic medicine that satisfy the most stringent criteria to come up with quality affordable formulations from the most trusted sources.

Watsons launched the Buy Generics & Save advocacy to ensure that consumers are educated in knowing the difference between trusted and questionable generics.

Part of this campaign is making it easier for customers to look for the generic counterpart of their branded medications.

Starting June, Watsons will bring together all its generic offers in a special, highly visible Buy Generics counter inside the pharmacy.

The new health section will carry the Watsons Compliance Packs (for chronic and acute diseases), Watsons Health Packs (for common ailments like headache, stomach pains, allergy, etc.) and a wide range of generic products only from trusted manufacturers like Unilab, Ritemed, United Home, Pharex and others. This will provide more options to customers on top of the branded products available.

In recent years, generic medicine, which are priced cheaper than the leading brands, have been presented as a solution to high-priced commercial brands.

However, people are not yet comfortable in switching to generic drugs because of some bad reputation in the past related to questionable efficacy and poor quality.

To overcome these challenges, Watsons exerted utmost effort to look for the right pharmaceutical partners and bring together quality generic medicine in the market. This is consistent with its mission of inspiring people to live beautifully and healthily and its aim to provide added value to its shoppers in managing their health.

Already in the Philippines to provide quality natural products that are specially formulated to promote optimum health, NOW Foods was founded in 1968 by Elwood Richard.

The company believes that good health is not a luxury available only to the wealthy but for everybody so all remain in tip-top shape.

For the past 40 years, its mission has been to offer health food and nutritional supplements of high quality. Today, NOW Foods remains one of the top-selling brands in health food stores in America.

It continues to strengthen its commitment to provide wellness products that empower people to lead healthier lives.

As part of its mission to help people achieve holistic well-being, NOW Foods created the NOW Ambassador Program. The goal is to support individuals who share NOW Foods’ passion for a healthier life, both in the physical and emotional sense.

Ambassadors can come from any occupation, whether in athletics or otherwise, as long as they have a positive story to tell about the impact of NOW Foods supplements on their lives.

One of the featured NOW Foods ambassadors in the country is true-blue vegetarian and supermodel Isabel Roces whose passion for fitness is emulated by those who live a healthy lifestyle.

Another ambassador is Melanie Siy Tan, a full-time mother and yoga instructor. Like Roces, she recognizes the valuable nutritional support NOW Foods gives her in her yoga sessions and other strenuous physical activities.

NOW Foods also welcomed its two other ambassadors: Erwan Heussaff, a celebrity foodie and health buff; and popular DJ and TV host Sam YG.
