DigiPlus earmarks P2 billion for 2024 capex

MANILA, Philippines — Fast-growing digital entertainment company DigiPlus Interactive Corp. plans to spend as much as P2 billion this year as it looks to sustain its growth momentum and ramp up its digital offerings.

In a briefing yesterday, DigiPlus president Andy Tsui said the company has earmarked P1.5 billion to P2 billion for capital expenditures this year.

Tsui said more than half of the budget would be invested on technological upgrades, including cybersecurity, as well as game developments.

He said the company would continue to invest in new technologies and product development as part of its strategic priorities that would enable DigiPLus to sustain its growth momentum and achieve its goal of becoming the number one diversified leisure and entertainment hub in the country.

“We continue to invest in cutting-edge technologies and product development to continuously offer unparalleled enjoyment for Filipinos,” Tsui said.

“We aim to shape the landscape of Filipino entertainment with our portfolio of digital offerings that cater to different demographics and lifestyle preferences,” he said.

For 2024, DigiPlus expects revenues to sustain its growth given the fast growing market.

Tsui said revenues could grow by 10 to 20 percent this year.

DigiPlus revenues soared by 306 percent to P27.3 billion in 2023 on higher user traffic in its flagship bingo platform BingoPlus and sportsbook ArenaPlus.

The company’s net income surged by 596 percent to P4.1 billion, driven by the steady growth of its digital retail segment which was boosted by the introduction of new platforms and cost efficiencies.

“Through our accelerated digital transformation effort, we are optimistic that we can sustain the growth momentum across DigiPlus’ digital offerings,” Tsui said.

“As we expand our retail segment, we remain committed in integrating our digital and offline offerings by introducing top-tier flagship stores, livestreaming hub, cutting-edge gaming machines—all using the latest technology,” he said.
