MANILA, Philippines — Metropolitan Bank and Trust Co. (Metrobank) recently announced that InstaPay and PESONet transactions done via Metrobank Online and the Metrobank Mobile App will remain free of charge until June 30.

This extended assistance reiterates Metrobank’s focus on Meaningful Banking assuring clients that they are well taken care of and their needs prioritized moreso in difficult times.

Since the onset of the pandemic in July 2020, Metrobank was one of the first banks to waive fees for InstaPay and PESONet transactions until the end of the third quarter of 2020. Seeing the upward trend in online transactions usage throughout last year, Metrobank further extended the waived interbank transfer fees to end-of-year, Dec. 31, 2020 and eventually toward March 31.

“All of our clients enrolled in Metrobank Online and the Metrobank Mobile app will continue to enjoy the benefit of waived transfer fees, whether to send money to their loved ones or to pay for their online purchases,” Metrobank chief marketing officer Digs Dimagiba said.

InstaPay lets you do real-time transfers of up to P50,000 daily, and up to P200,000 for PESONet but with a 3 p.m. cut-off time daily.
