MANILA, Philippines — Globe Telecom Inc. has expanded the reach of its public WiFi service to more establishments as part of its efforts to serve the connectivity needs of the public amid the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon.

The company has made available free and unlimited internet connection through its GoWiFi services at NAIA Terminals 1, 2 and 3, as well as select supermarkets and grocery stores across the country.

GoWiFi has been made available to 110 supermarkets and grocery stores in Albay, Batangas, Benguet, Bulacan, Cagayan, Camarines Sur, Capiz, Cavite, Cebu, Davao del Sur, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Isabela, Laguna, Leyte, Masbate, Metro Manila, Misamis Occidental and Oriental, Negros Occidental and Oriental, Oriental Mindoro, Pampanga, Pangasinan, Rizal, and Zamboanga del Sur since March 18.

Globe said GoWiFi services have also been available since March 13 in select public and private hospitals nationwide as support to medical frontliners and communities affected by the pandemic.

GoWiFi is available in at least 68 medical institutions across Luzon until April 15.

It is Globe’s WiFi service that aims to provide customers better WiFi experience with speeds of up to 100 Mbps, depending on the location.

Globe president and chief executive officer Ernest Cu said that GoWiFi is a very important concept for the company as it brings fast and reliable internet connectivity to the public.

Meanwhile, Globe is calling for its loyal customers to join in the ongoing fight against the COVID-19 pandemic by donating their Globe Rewards points to the PGH Medical Foundation Inc.

Donated points will be used to provide much-needed test kits, alcohol, and complete sets of personal protective equipment such as surgical masks, face shields, and surgical gowns.

Globe Rewards also made an initial pledge of P5 million in cash donation to augment PGH’s supplies and support for its healthcare frontliners.
