ISOC Holdings plans P6-billion leisure resort complex in Clark Freeport

MANILA, Philippines — Clark Development Corp. (CDC) has signed a lease agreement with ISOC Holdings, a company chaired by Megawide Construction Corp. co-founder Michael Cosiquien, to develop a seven-hectare property within the Clark Freeport Zone into a sustainable and energy efficient resort and entertainment complex.

When completed, the P6-billion project would have a harmonized recreational, entertainment, business and lifestyle complex with hotels, offices, serviced condominiums and retail facilities.

For the concept, construction and design of the project, ISOC Holdings’ I-Land Clark partnered with world-class designers and companies to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environment Design (LEED) certification, the most widely recognized green building rating globally.

Ricardo Reyes, lead architect of Aidea Design, said the environment-friendly development would include the natural setting of the area in the design.

“What we envision for the project is a sustainable and energy efficient development plan. We don’t want to alter the environment drastically, but we want to blend it with our design,” he said.

Cosiquien said the project would feature the company’s environmental sustainability thrust.

“We see this project as a showpiece for ISOC’s very strong push towards environmental sustainability where we will maximize the natural attributes and resources of the property and incorporate them in the design, flow, construction and use of building and facilities,” he said.

For his part, I-Land president Joseph Ramil Lombos said the master plan for the project would take into account the different needs of customers.

“As a master planned complex, we made sure that every detail is geared towards every particular customer — the tourist, businessman, boss lady, families and kids, lovers of the outdoors and adventure-seekers, and just the average customer wanting to commune with nature and yet have access to every amenity,” he said.

For his part, CDC president and chief executive officer Noel Manankil said the project would complement other developments in the freeport.

“There is a growing demand for more lodging facilities and corresponding amenities within a carefully planned community that ushers in a new, unique and distinctive lifestyle. This undertaking augurs well in the overall development blueprint for Clark that would redound to a greater benefit for the region,” he said.
